WASHINGTON Amarillo congressman Ronny Jackson threatened to beat a state trooper and bury a West Texas sheriff in the next election after deputies pushed him to the ground and handcuffed him at a rodeo, according to a sheriffs incident report released Friday night.
Jackson, a former White House physician and retired rear admiral, portrayed himself afterwards as the victim of overzealous officers who didnt realize he was trying to put his medical expertise to use helping a teenager who was having a seizure.
The report on the July 29 incident from Carson County Sheriff Tam Terry portrays Jackson as belligerent and uncooperative.
It says that deputies asked Jackson to step back at least four times before they detained him, and he had also ignored the state troopers order to step back to let emergency responders help the girl.
*snip*
He was drunk and still no consequences.

(23,291 posts)that was one of the most bizarre things i'd ever seen. he sounded like a tween girl at a boy band concert, not a doctor. to say nothing of the fact that he didn't represent his patient very well by lying and saying he was an Adonis when in fact he was a man in his 70s with several health problems and horrible eating habits.

"Schwertner was arrested around 12:45 a.m. on Feb. 7 after an Austin police officer reported a black Cadillac, driven by Schwertner, was swerving to the right and the left and split the two lanes repeatedly, according to a probable cause affidavit.
The morning of Schwertners arrest, the officer followed the senators car and saw it continue to swerve between lanes, the affidavit said. The officer stopped the car and the driver identified himself as Schwertner."
Schwertner, 52, has faced other scandals in the past. In 2018, he was accused of sending sexually explicit photos of his genitals to a graduate student at the University of Texas at Austin. He denied the allegations, saying that someone else sent the messages using his LinkedIn account and another privacy phone messaging app that belongs to him.

Ronny Jackson hasn't filed a Financial Disclosure form for two years:

Also note. Ronny used campaign funds to pay for membership to a private Amarillo club. I think(?) the House Committee on Ethics is still reviewing this case

The congressman later told Terry that in his attempt to care for the patient, he thought it was safe to put a gumball in the patients mouth as a way to elevate her blood sugar. But in an exchange included in the report between Terry and White Deer EMS provider Kimberly Thomas, Thomas says that the gum presents a choking hazard to patients having a seizure, and that most gum is sugar free and thus would not address low blood sugar.
Due to Jacksons extremely agitated state, in which he continued to yell profanities, deputies brought him to the ground and placed the congressman in handcuffs, according to the report. Officers then escorted Jackson out of the rodeo grounds and removed the handcuffs, while he continued to scream profanities at Trooper Young. After the congressman was released, his wife, Jane Jackson, approached the deputies and demanded their information before their group got into a Black SUV and left the scene...
