Ron Weasley was number two, tho!
The algorithm tracks and factors in what you read. Since I don't read "Twitter politics" this person would never appear in results for me.
It's like when people note that all they see is right-wing stuff on Twitter or wherever. It's like, "Well, you're clearly engaging with it or it wouldn't target you." Consequently, I see almost no politics on my Reddit, YouTube, or Twitter feeds.

(128,150 posts)things show up in google search that have nothing to do with what I peruse. Please note that I specifically said google search, not any of the feeds that you mentioned.

(10,735 posts)Outside of Ron DeSantis who was occupying the top six spots, the first politically associated Ron results I got were Sen. Ron Wyden's website at 21st and Ron Suskind at 34th.
It varies why things are where they are in Google. Some of it is just blatant paid promotion. Some of it is tracking what you're viewing. They want engagement, so they're going to try and get at what it thinks you want to see.
How it crunches data is it will check what people who share your behaviors and habits also enjoy and then feed that to you, even if you actually don't have that same interest. They just know statistically there's a good chance you will. Google and Facebook know I'm gay. As a result, for a very long time, I kept getting results and recommendations for gay cruises and nonstop pics of scantily clad muscle men on vacation. I never looked for a cruise, I don't look at pics of men online very often. But it saw I engaged other LGBT content, that I was male, and a certain age and income and went, "Let's just have abs on every page. Six packs, eight packs, whatever. Just abs. All the time."
Thanks, Google. I never bought anything, but I feel like I started developing eating disorders.
Most of my Ron results were movie and book related, which probably tracks for me. But there was also a rum company (I don't drink) and a surf shop (I don't surf).
