A Pennsylvania dog is getting a new lease on life after being left behind by its owner.

Allegheny County police are expected to charge a traveler for animal abandonment. The passenger allegedly left their dog behind at the Pittsburgh International Airport’s short-term parking.

Police responded to a call early Friday morning that a male dog “was found unattended in a stroller,” according to a tweet by the Allegheny County Police Department.

The article on WTAE, a local tv channel, referred to a woman owner. My bold edit below.

"We were able to determine that the dog’s owner had attempted to fly with the dog this morning and was denied boarding due to having an improper cargo container," Allegheny County police Sgt. Jason Donaldson said. "In turn, the dog was abandoned, and the dog’s owner continued to its resort destination as intended."

Donaldson said the woman also tried to fly with the dog under the pretense of being an emotional support animal. That attempt was unsuccessful.

The dog's owner is expected to face a charge of animal abandonment.

even fathom how someone could be so cold and uncaring towards an animal that depends on it's owner for it's very existence.
My pup is one of my best friends, it would tear me up to think she would be abandoned, alone and scared like that. The photo alone is enough to bring a tear to your eye.

My animals are all rescues. I'm that crazy old lady that has no issue taking your animal if it's being abused. Even watching movies, I can't handle the dog dying.
