you just know he would have dressed in drag to get on a Titanic lifeboat, and pushed women and children over the side to get to one.
Is that what they teach in a "small town"?

(36,814 posts)did not show one of the largest criminal riots/insurrection ever committed in this country, J6.
Most committed by people from small towns all over the US. And they did it in a city. Brought their shit to the city.

(19,382 posts)Sorry politeness goes out the door. Disgusting this is being brought up. What next making fun of someone from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School (Parkland) for not behaving in the way you believe they should? Is this going to be a daily rehash of embarrassing acts by people under duress? Im shocked by this truly.

(16,914 posts)It's quite another to pretend you're a badass while promoting modern day lynching.
We all would probably run when the bullets start flying, but if I then bragged about what a badass, small town righteous, violent racist I was, I would expect nothing...including my cowardice, to be off limits.
Sorry you can't see the difference.

(51,308 posts)We have a few for here who think they'd be the hero in such a situation. Laughable.

(82,849 posts)I'd like to think, though, that once my fright was over and I'd changed my shorts, I wouldn't write a song promoting lynching and intolerance, because that would mark me as a flaming hypocrite in addition to being a coward.

(22,055 posts)As for you, my fine friend, you're a victim of disorganized thinking. You are under the unfortunate delusion that simply because you run away from danger, you have no courage. You're confusing courage with wisdom

(3,557 posts)Having had been in combat many times myself, you really have no idea how youre going to react in those sort of situations until you actually experience it.
Id even gander to say that just because you reacted one way one time, that doesnt mean thats how youre going to react the next time.
During my first firefight, I was calm and collected and reacted very deliberately. Several firefights later I was blown up by an IED and I couldnt stop shaking a stuttering for what seemed like an eternity - my soldiers made fun of me for that one!! During subsequent firefights, I was again calm and collected.

(71,257 posts)the bullshit. My Dad in the Navy was a Medic in both Korea and Vietnam...so that is bullshit. People go to all sorts of brave actions to save their fellow man...hell he knew these guys but of course, for someone like him: a racist, clan-loving coward, he made the wrong choice. These guys always do.

Wow
Tell your brother and dad your opinion about vets and bravery. Please tell us if they say every person was a hero standing bravely in the face of every danger.
Spoiler alert- they won't

I mean, it's great that you're a brave person and all, but I don't remember any cars being involved in this story.

Some days I seriously wonder how the, "Yes, this sentiment I'm about to express is totally socially adjusted and appropriate" makes it through the filter.
Thread is gross.

(38,506 posts)of the LV shooting, I thought there was a storm or something. I wasn't even aware he was around at that time.
As far as country music, I can't stand most of it the last 20 years. Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Allen Jackson, Buck Owens
Loretta Lynn, Patsy Cline that is country. Today's is garbage.

(22,055 posts)That verifies ge ran over or pushed band members out of the way? I have seen this claimed several times but I can find no corroboration.
The closest are articles from 2017 about a security guard killed while pulling him to safety.
