The mantra praise the lord popped into my head. I wondered what kind of idiots continue to think TFG is the new messiah. And I remembered a childhood friend that I havent seen for many years. I ran into his parents at a restaurant many years ago. Wed been best friends for years until late in HS he got to be a jock and his ego got carried away. I finally had enough and just cut him off. I saw him a couple times in college and hadnt seen him in years. So his mom and dad gave me his phone number and I was back visiting my folks so I gave him a call and offered to come over for a visit. He had a bike ride planned and he didnt want to change his plan to see me. He kept interspersing the conversation with praise the lord which turned me off for a couple reasons.
Anyway, getting to my point, hed be one of those phony Christians that would be a dedicated TFG supporter. I dont know how he changed so much. I used to feel kind of bad about cutting him off way back then but I realized wed drifted so far apart it was inevitable and dont feel bad about it anymore.

Every third word was "The Lord."
I cut off contact with him, about 35 years ago.
Who knows where he is now.

(5,519 posts)you're not much of a Christian IMHO. The best comparison I can come up with is MTG and former president Carter.

(1,438 posts)I hate hearing "have a blessed day" from people on the phone, in person, wherever. I am not a christian, I want nothing to do with religion. I am, however, unfailing polite so I don't say anything. I don't say "thank you," I'm not THAT polite, but I don't say what is
in my mind which is something along the line of "I don't need or want your blessings."

Too bad they too are proselytizers.
Remember those who would pray for you can also prey on you.
