Republicans buckle down for what could be marathon blockade

Fasten your seat belts my friends, it's going to be a very bumpy ride. House Republicans are furious at Speaker McCarthy for the Debt Ceiling deal and threatening MUTINY. Which means, the House Freedumb caucus will refuse to govern. Talk about ONE BIG FUCKING MESS Kevin has on his hands!

Source: The Hill

Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) is racing to break the lower chamber deadlock triggered this week by disgruntled conservatives, but rank-and-file members aren’t holding their breath for a resolution.

A number of House Republicans left Washington on Thursday warning the sides remain so far apart that it might require weeks — maybe longer — to get the House back to working order.

The conservatives are furious with McCarthy’s handling of last month’s debt ceiling negotiations, which led to a deal with President Biden loathed by GOP hard-liners who think the Speaker caved too easily on the Republicans’ deficit reduction demands.

But McCarthy’s days are now definitely numbered.

Jeffries will be speaker in January 2025 with a decent majority I think.

They like to hold press conferences and make grandiose statements at committee hearings and pander to Neanderthals on podcasts but when it comes down to it none of them will challenge McCarthy.

some democratic rep said that when the cameras aren't rolling a lot of the brats behave like adults. That's obviously not how he put it, but that was the gist of it.

Seems that, with repuQs in charge of that sort of thing, there’d be a slew of repuQ bills lined up - the ones handpicked by the MAGAts. Are they going to shoot down each of those? Self-pwn I reckon.

Apparently Mac is going to mollify them by brining up legislation to weaken gun safety laws. Says it all.

There are necessary legislative things for the people that need to get done, but I wouldn't be real eager or quick to belly up to the bar to help McCarthy look like he is getting anything done. Let the Repugs stew in their own dysfunction and let voters see and hear about it....alot.

five months in the majority and they've "investigated" Hunter Biden's laptop/Joe Biden for whatever/DC public urination..they've defended gas stoves, heard testimony from bogus whistleblowers, "lost" witnesses, cruised the Rio Grande hoping to catch sight of invading fentanyl carrying thugs, threatened Alvin Bragg, vacayed in Manhattan, were humiliated by Mark Pomerantz, sent letters demanding Merrick Garland relinquish all files pertaining to Trump investigations (Garland politely told them to get fucked), showcased MTG/Boebert blathering stupidity...I'd say no one will notice House business is deadlocked...just another day in MAGA land...

Kevin15's job is actually pretty safe.

It took 15 votes to get his incompetent ass in there.

Who would satisfy them all now?
