that is if you do the same thing over and over again for a long enough period, the outcome will eventually be different.

as in, "CNN is getting Licht in the ratings after they decided to appease the MAGAts and give tRumplethinskin a platform to bleat out his lies."

"Licked" would be an anglicized pronunciation of the German word "licht." The sound "ch" makes in German doesn't really exist in English, so English speakers mangle it to something more familiar to us.

The fact that FOX is on top is very disturbing to me. What does it say about our country? We have allowed ignorance a seat at the table. Education means nothing. We were always a leader because those that lead were always educated and somewhat critical thinkers. Now we have let the cray cray in and they are destroying our country from within.

Of all the people watching TV that night, sure, Fox had 3 million total; however, the rest of the dial had far more viewers during the evening, and, combined, they dwarfed these numbers.

For instance, Jeopardy Masters had 5.2m viewers over at ABC.

The shows on the CBS lineup were were 4.4m, 5m and 5.46m, utterly swamping Fox's total viewership for the evening.

Even the last place NBC lineup had their lowest rated show nab 1.6m viewers, easily ahead of the 1.4m for Frau Ingraham, the lead show at Fox for the evening.

I think we give undue attention to the ratings at Fox, and forget that there's a much bigger telly universe out there. Most people aren't news junkies. If they're watching anything, they tend to prefer sitcoms, dramas, reality shows, movies and etc.

I'd only worry about the Fox numbers if they consistently exceeded what the rest of the country tuned into on a given night.

introduced their 24 hr news networks in 1996. CNN at least managed to hold onto 2nd place into the 2000, but in the last handful of years has slowly gone downhill and now accelerating to the bottom.

What a fall from grace.

twitter is implying the ratings that night were about average for CNN. I'm feeling lazy and don't want to go to the google machine.

were averaged around 500,000-600,000. That is since Licht took over, they used to be in the 1-2 million before, usually exceeding MSNBC until they started putting republicans back on and allowing them to spew the lies with no push back. They have long had the both sides issues on some shows. I haven't watched them for about 8-9 months.

CNN has been taking a deep dive and their idea of boosting those averages were to dump more sewage in the pond

That is quite pathetic. And even more so for Anderson Cooper to play janitor by gas lighting

Good grief.

Thank you btw.
