There were 6 men and 3 women on E. Jean Caroll's jury. The men and women collectively voted against trump.
They stood for all of us.

(5,455 posts)When I saw there were twice as many men on the jury I honestly was worried. Dump did try to give the impression that boys will be boys. Thanks goodness those men were NOTHING like the orange criminal.

I am amazed.

(141,357 posts)(One of my great experiences was on a jury in a federal case, guy tried to rip off 9/11 fund thru fraud. We found him not guilty because govt didn't prove it's case.)
I was foreman on a jury in 2008/09. 3rd degree murder was among the charges, but although every member of the jury was personally sure that the defendant was guilty, was all agreed that the prosecution failed to prove it.
It was remarkable to see, because we had a wide range of attitudes and political views, yet we stepped up and did our duty.
Can't say that I'd love to do it over and over again, but it was very interesting to serve.

(94,660 posts)'You could get killed': National security analyst issues sobering warning to E. Jean Carroll jurors
A CNN national security analyst on Tuesday issued a sobering warning after the judge in E. Jean Carrolls civil case advised jurors not to identify themselves.
Juliette Kayyem suggested that there are safety considerations for jurors after Judge Lewis Kaplan advised them before their dismissal not to identify themselves although theyre now allowed to.
Kaplan issued the admonition after a Manhattan jury ruled that former President Donald Trump was liable for defamation and sexual abuse and awarded Carroll $5 million.
"My advice to you is not to identify yourselves. Not now and not for a long time, Kaplan said.
If youre one who elects to speak to others and to identify yourselves to others, I direct you not to identify anyone else who sat on this jury.
