The Florida governor suggested during a speech in Israel that his prayers on the Western Wall spared the state the effects of Hurricane Dorian

Why nuke a hurricane when you can simply pray it away? Speaking at the Museum of Tolerance in Jerusalem on Friday, as part of his multi-day visit to the country, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis recalled his visit to the Western Wall during a separate trip in 2019.

“The only thing I can tell you” DeSantis said, “is my prayer in 2019 was that we would be spared the upcoming hurricane season in the state of Florida.”

11. Facebook posts and Hurricane Dorian

At one point hurricane Dorian was headed toward South Florida. Dorian was massively one of the strongest storms ever in the Atlantic basin. Some folks I know posted prayers on Facebook for Dorian not to hit Florida, and rejoiced that their prayers were answered when the storm moved more North and hit the Bahamas instead.

The folks posting on Facebook were sure their prayers had been answered, but never took credit that their prayers had caused the death of 74 people in the Bahamas. Prayer is like gambling.....no one talks about their losses!
