Who would replace Kevin McCarthy as speaker? Everybody knows little Kevin is a beard for MTG who is the real power. He's on fragile ground as far as somebody challenging his speakership.
Who would replace him? I don't see MTG having enough solid support to get voted in even with all her extreme compatriots in the House.
But she and her fellow extremists would surely disable chances for a moderate Republican as speaker.
Kevin is probably in a pretty safe position as a placeholder instead of an actual leader.

(4,741 posts)It took 15 ballots to get him into the position, and now nobody has the will to garner the votes for removing him from it.
Why would they, when they face no consequences for doing whatever they want? They're not afraid of losing the whip over it, because the majority has too many loose cannons running amok to unify over anything beyond "against whatever a Democrat wants." And even then...
