(21,704 posts)I'm pro-choice, and that means no forced anything for anyone. I can't protest women's bodily autonomy being stripped away while joking about violating someone else's bodily autonomy.
Sorry, I know you meant well.

(21,704 posts)I get why some find it funny, and I'm not about to tell anyone else what they should or should not laugh at. I just can't bring myself to laugh at anything to do with forced pregnancies, forced abortions, or forced sterilizations. All of that is about violations of someone's bodily autonomy, and that's just not something I'm capable of laughing about.
Besides, I don't think joking about violating anyone's bodily autonomy would be a good look for someone who spends as much time as I do advocating for the bodily autonomy of women to be respected. I'd feel like a hypocrite.
But that's me. I don't expect anyone else to necessarily agree.

I just like the idea of Republicans only hurting other Republicans.

(14,567 posts)Pretty sure the obvious result would be women abandoning the republican party in droves.
It would be interesting to see the annual numbers on how many persons left (and to be fair, probably rejoined) the republican party in red states each year. Might be eye opening.

(34,952 posts)that republicans will breed more republicans. It doesn't work that way sweetie. Nice try though.
Edited to add: And of course, she's also suggesting that abortion should be banned for white women.

(3,919 posts)republicans, and less Democrats but what she is missing is that kids from republican parents are choosing to support Democrats because they understand the evil ways of the republican party. Good attempt Ann, but you misjudge the corruption from republicans which in fact is turning people away from your party. Not sure if we could put a number to all the people, including republicans, who want to vomit at the site of people like trump, Ann Coulter, Gym Jordan, Josh Hawley and so many others.

(4,616 posts)So we're dragging out Ann Coulter, promoting and siding with her now. And we wonder how we got here.

(37,838 posts)I look at it this way: Her entire career has been devoted to turning the Republicans into what they are now, and she's loved 98% of it, laughing all the way to the bank.
She has only now figured out who all her efforts were enabling, but being a conservative pundit addicted to bomb-throwing, admitting error is a thought that can't even begin to form within her brain. She's trying to find a way to get her hellbeast back under control and responding to her reins like it's supposed to.
That she sometimes has to say things we sort of agree with in her futile attempts to wrangle her own devilspawn is inevitable, and I take them as the random-chance desperation that they are.
