Republicans Vowed to Grill Bragg About Trump, but It's Not So Simple

WASHINGTON — As Alvin Bragg, the Manhattan district attorney, prepared to bring criminal charges against former President Donald Trump, House Republicans rallied to Trump’s side, vowing to use their power in Congress to haul in Bragg and force him to turn over documents and answer questions.

The reality, they have privately acknowledged, is much more complicated.

For weeks, top House Republicans and their lawyers have been grappling with how to move forward in their investigation of Bragg amid legal and institutional concerns about overreach and how to enforce a subpoena in court. The situation is a reminder for the new majority, which has promised aggressive inquiries into the Biden administration, that its gavels do not guarantee easy investigative breakthroughs.

Led by Rep. Gym Jordan of Ohio, the Judiciary Committee chair, GOP lawmakers have yet to issue a subpoena for Bragg’s testimony, opting instead for exchanging a series of strongly worded letters.

Bragg and Pomerantz should tell them to fuck right off and stuff their subpoenas where the sun doesn't shine.

if Jordan thinks Pomerantz is going to trash Alvin Bragg and Trump's 34 count indictment he's wrong..this isn't "the enemy of my enemy is my friend"...

5. Yup. Pomerantz quit because he thought Bragg *wouldn't* proceed with the case.

But now that Bragg has done it, accomplishing what Pomerantz wanted him to do, he's certainly not going to throw sand in those gears. Because Gym Jordan is both vindictive and profoundly stupid, he apparently assumes Pomerantz will want to get even with Bragg in some way. But he won't. In fact, I would expect Pomerantz to hang Gym's subpoena in his bathroom in an appropriately convenient location and offer him a big pail of sand to pound.
