Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region Forumsyahoo!news knows the difference between Small "d" and Big "D" democratic/Democratic, yet
surely must be aware of superficial optics in reading/impressions. I, too, know "d" from "D" and meet passable bumpersticker awareness in politics, yet when I first glanced at the headline of this article I was brought up short and stunned that criminally charged leaders were cited as "democratic" which my synapses registered as "Democratic". I knee-jerked on outrage until I saw that the content was clearly referring to democratically-elected leaders, rather than Democratic Party leaders.
Even something *accurate* might have a *misleading* facet, and word-trade professionals surely might be aware of it. If a minor keyboard cadet like me was fooled, what do the "low information" wingnuts see in the headline?
Bonus: "low information voter" was coined to describe the Faux Propaganda Network viewers, but the Nazi-level propagandist LIMBAUGH did his word flipping by applying it to Left voters, drilling it in, and his zombies have been regurgitating it at Dems ever since, with the younger ones not even knowing the origin.
ON EDIT: The reporter's picture shows her so young (or I'm just old), doesn't fit my stereotype of grizzled journos. And I'm aware that headline writers are separate from the content.

It's not an earthshaking topic but something to be considered.
Wouldn't there be a yahoo!news editor for her and the headline writer who might also be appreciated to have the little consideration in the back of the mind? Or is the reporter's editor also somewhere else?
