(10,770 posts)..at the Omni in Atlanta in the early '70s. He was introduced and stood up and waved to the crowd from one of the front rows. We had driven from Orlando and had good seats on the floor about 20 rows back. At the time it was not only unusual but unprecedented in our experiences. 'What a cool guy' was my thought then. What a giant of a man is my thought now. America was fortunate to have him.

(1,654 posts)maybe PBS? What it showed was a forward thinking man open to new ideas and all people. I have always loved Jimmy Carter. Voted for him twice.

(11,307 posts)would get together for a mega-concert memorial benefitting Habitats for Humanity or whatever other charity the Carters might prefer.
It could be sprinkled with brief encomia reminding everyone of his accomplishments.
Could give us some of the inspiration we need more of today!
