During a floor speech Monday, the Republican from Alabama railed against a Pentagon policy that provides travel funds and support for troops and their dependents who seek abortions, but are based in states they are illegal.
"I am proud to be pro-life for many reasons, including my faithanother thing that I will not set aside for political correctness. However, even without considering religion, a society that allows abortion up to and past the moment of birth, after the baby has been born, isn't progressive. It's barbaric and it's murder."

(15,036 posts)Who's going to tell him that abortion and birth are mutually exclusive?
I'm starting to think there should be some kind of test for someone to run for political office. People who don't know shit shouldn't be making laws for the rest of us.

(18,656 posts)The fact that he equates leaving his personal religious beliefs out of politics as being "politically correct" should be stunning to every person who believes there should be a separation between church and state.
Sadly, this worldview and lack of intellectual curiosity are the feature of modern day conservatives not the exception. They view every action and decision through their evangelical lens and will refuse compromise over any issue, conveniently because it goes against their God.

(19,821 posts)convincing the voters in Alabama that Tuberville is an ignoramus. We can probably convince a majority of Americans that he isn't fit to govern anything, but those Alabama voters love him.
RAZORBACKS, RAZORBACKS, RAZORBACKS!
Alabama voters have a process of determining the fitness of their political candidates that is far removed from any sane or logical process. They're not quite up to speed on the importance of intelligence when choosing their state politicians 🙄.

(6 posts)ie, I lived in Little Rock for 6 months when I was 9, I must correct one thing. The Razorbacks are an Arkansas college football team! I, unfortunately, can never forget the trucks roaring down the roads with drunken hillbillies shrieking "Soooo-eeeeee!!!!!" (shudder)
End of didactic comment 😁

(19,821 posts)"The Crimson Tide" they know we're talking Alabama football.
If someone says "Auburn Tigers"...... I doubt 30% of people know Auburn is in Alabama. And they are only the 2nd largest university in Alabama, after all.
The Crimson Tide are Alabama football. 😉 Most consider Auburn to be Alabama's JV team.

(4,627 posts)However, as a Tide fan, I refuse to lay claim to Tubbs. Youre right about Auburn being Alabamas JV team.

but The Tide have minimal educational background requirements. He'll do for Auburn, but never the University of Alabama. 😉

(448 posts)conservative pro-choice because they don't give a sh*t what happens after they're born. As soon as they're born, conservatives take away their health care, put a gun in their hand and take away the parent's ability to feed them. Post-natal abortion. Tuberville inadvertently captured that.
Make no mistake. They are anti-abortion, not pro-life. Be sure to say that to them whenever you happen to be near protesters at a Planned Parenthood location

seem to relish hurting people and making spectacles of themselves. Neither is what Id call smart in any category, but their stupidity is more the reckless, dont tell me I aint smart variety. And they plan shit. Its stupid shit, but its sort of planned and acted upon.
But on the single criteria of sheer dumbness, Tubbs has them both beat, and then some. He is genuinely dumb. Like Im not sure how he puts on pants in the morning kind of dumb. When he coached, I thought it was an aw shucks country boy act. It wasnt. Hes really dumb. He couldnt plan a strategy for making a sandwich.
