Justice Department tells Jim Jordan it won't share information about ongoing investigations

And so it seems that the DOJ refuses to compromise its work in order to appease Gym Jordan about investigations regarding President Biden, January 6th and any Congressional involvement as such. It appears Gym Jordan is being told in an eloquent manner....."Fuck off"

Source:CNN

The Justice Department signaled Friday it’s unlikely to share information about ongoing criminal investigations with the new GOP-controlled House, in a move that’s certain to frustrate Republicans in the chamber.

In a letter to House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan responding to a flurry of document requests, the DOJ said that “any oversight requests must be weighed against the department’s interests in protecting the integrity of its work.”

The letter added: “The Department’s mission to independently and impartially uphold the rule of law requires us to maintain the integrity of our investigations, prosecutions, and civil actions, and to avoid even a perception that our efforts are influenced by anything but the law and the facts.”

The thing is, either he is too stupid to realize how obvious he is being, or he does not care. I am betting on the rare combination of both.

And interrogate them.
If they defy his subpoena he can claim they don’t abide by the law.
He’s not going to sit down and give up.

it will never indict a sitting member of Congress, the only possibility is Scott Perry.

The DOJ has indicted sitting members before. According to the Washington Post, more than two dozen since 1980. Jim Trafficant was a big one; he refused to resign, even after he was convicted, and the full House voted to expel him. I remember when this happened. There was a Republican guy from NY indicted during the tRump years another from CA, I think, and another Repuke indicted and convicted last term on campaign finance charges.

So, it seems to me, there’s plenty of precedence for indictments. Don’t give up hope. The wheels of justice may turn too slowly for our tastes, but they do turn.

No real high profile cases of late, possible due to our hopelessly broken politics. But there was a time when having a Congress person's "scalp" tacked to your wall was a badge of honor and much coveted in Justice Department circles.
