Here are the stark differences between Trump and Biden classified docs cases: legal experts

Last edited Mon Jan 9, 2023, 09:23 PM - Edit history (1)

.

1) In particular, he cited a statement from Richard Sauber, special counsel to the president, who said that "that on the same day the material was discovered, Nov. 2, the White House counsel's office notified the National Archives, which took possession of the materials the following morning.”

2) In fact, the CNN story reveals that the documents have been locked up for five years, there was no request for them from he National Archives, and no flaunting of the documents by Biden. Trump's documents were stored in a pool storage room and there is evidence that he defied multiple requests to return them.

3) In fact, it's entirely possible Biden didn't even know he had them. The FBI wasn't called in to negotiate with anyone on Biden's team for the documents. There was also no search warrant issued for the FBI to search the locked offices for the documents.

4) “The documents were discovered when the President’s personal attorneys were packing files housed in a locked closet to prepare to vacate office space at the Penn Biden Center in Washington, D.C. The President periodically used this space from mid-2017 until the start of the 2020 campaign. On the day of this discovery, November 2, 2022, the White House Counsel’s Office notified the National Archives. The Archives took possession of the materials the following morning.”

So, the fucking question is, why is Biden? Because of political considerations that this DOJ says they don't make?

Sorry to disappoint but this is not the same as Trump's criminal behavior. The GOP will be sorry if the jump all over this. It's going to show a stark difference in respect for laws, regulations, and our intel community. Quite different from the Trumpians reaction.

And even if there is, there no proof that Biden did it intentionally

It's completely different.

There was no intention to hide the documents or use them for private, nefarious purposes.

Biden vacated that office in 2017 when Chump was inaugurated. Didn't anyone look in that closet since 2017?

so there were a number of former WH officials who had held security clearances who were on the staff at the location where the docs were found. This CBS article gives much more details than the CNN article.

Unfortunately, the House Repubs who are salivating for things to use against Biden will do there best you make a something burger out of it.

Eventually it'll blow over, because Biden has done nothing wrong, and they won't be able to prove he did, but this could be a pita for a while. I'm having Hillary/Benghazi flashbacks right now. 😦

I hope I'm overreacting. Time will tell.
