At least one Republican publicly stated that he will vote no, that means only three others are required for it to go down. Does that mean that McCarthy is still speaker? How likely is it to pass?

(30,181 posts)What happens if the rules don't get passed? My honest answer which is not snark, threats will be made to whoever voted no. I mean physical threats to that person and his/her family.

Physical threats toward McCarthy's detractors are likely as well. Those threats and worse will come from Trump's wink and nod. But Trump is also lending a wink and nod to the detractors because Trump gets giddy when he can create more chaos.

Keep in mind that many in the billionaire class will be fucked by these rules so there will be pressure to stop them.

If McCarthy makes concessions to the majority the crazies then hold a vote to oust him as speaker, then another vote, and another. Chaos and dysfunction are what Putin wants but how does this story end?
