This probably means McCarthy does not have the votes and they need to regroup to figure out whom to nominate if he bows out.

They're mostly from the Freedumb Caucus, and mostly election deniers and the equivalent of feces-flinging, circus monkeys. If any GOPers join Democrats in a consensus vote, it will be ones from the "Problem Solvers Caucus".

I don't think that the majority of members of the house (or senate for that matter) give a rats ass about their salaries............

There is so much money to be gotten by being a U.S. Politician, other than their normal pay........

Why else would there be millions or tens of millions spent, just to get a job that pays 200K? a year along with some rather juicy benefits???????

I would love to see an accurate, truthful statement as to the worth of every last member of the house and senate........and the massive increases in many of them, in their net worth, since gaining office.......

Again, my thoughts turn to the French guy in the 1700's, when our Democracy was first established, when he said:

"Democracy will work until some group or politicians figure out that they can vote themselves money".........

a leader of the renegade crazies who can actually make McCarthy look fairly mainstream in comparison.

Republicans have now made history by nominating a second black members for speaker (our Jeffries the first), but that's not the reason for nominating him, they do not seek to judge people by the color of their skin.

I didn't get a chance to turn on the TV or go online until a little, so I'm playing catch up lol. And it looks like they're doing a fifth vote, and Boebert just nominated Byron Donalds.

Did she refer to Trump as "the president" just now?

but not enough of them to keep the House adjourned and Jeffries wins a Speaker vote, one hopes the ones who storm out will be censured, or in the cases of assholes like Greene. Boebert, Gosar, Jordam, and a few others, are expelled, forcing the states to hold special elections with real candidates instead of obsessed morons, maybe this can turn out OK.

There are constitutional remedies for disruptive assholes. There just need to be enough adults in the room to use them.
