The far-right internet personality known as "Baked Alaska" was less than pleased with former President Donald Trump's announcement Thursday that he's launching a series of digital trading card NFTs.

"i can't believe i'm going to jail for an nft salesman," "Baked Alaska," whose real name is Anthime Gionet, tweeted Thursday afternoon.

Gionet participated in the January 6, 2021, attack on the US Capitol and pleaded guilty to one misdemeanor count of parading, demonstrating, or picketing in a Capitol building. The charge carries a sentence of up to six months, and Gionet's sentencing hearing is scheduled for January 12.

TFG was not a trust fund idiot. The purpose of a trust is to protect the assets and provide substantial cash flow into the future.
Even TFG could not have so badly squandered a trust fund.
But, squander the fortune he did.
That doesn't change your point though.

Those "loans" from daddy's in the 70s (really a tax dodge) was dumped into his side of the business, and when daddy died, over 90% was the organization which he then controlled.
His dad, and later TFG so overestimated their business acumen that diversification was just a 15 letter word.
Based on numbers on compiled in the past, had he taken those "loans" & sold daddy's properties and had professionals manage his money, he could have (since 1989) lived off 100x the median household income, and by 2016 been worth $8 billion. That's $3.2 billion more than he lied about being worth. And about 25x the most he could be worth today.
We agree on the squandering part, completely. But, these geniuses never structured their money into anything that sensible.

I’ve been lurking here for at least 6 years, probably more. It’s one of the first sites i’ll absorb when I wake up in the morning. I do post a lot of Twitter links here, though I don't post anything on Twitter (haven't for years) because it's been an important platform whose use or misuse impacts our society far beyond Twitter.

It isn't just RWers being duped by conmen.

If it was, Biden wouldn't be there. Zelensky wouldn't be there. Journalists wouldn't be there. Lawmakers wouldn't be there. Government agencies, at all levels, wouldn't be there. Artists, of all types, wouldn't be there.

Musk is doing tremendous damage to Twitter. He's weaponizing internal documents, releasing them selectively, to try to harm Democrats. That shouldn't be ignored.
