During the Trump administration, the republicans abandoned the blue slip rule and confirmed appeals court judges over the objections of Democratic senators; Democrats have returned the favor by ignoring blue slips from republicans with respect to appeals court judges.

But blue slip objections continued to be honored by the republicans for district court judges during the Trump years and are being honored today by the Democrats.

As I recall, the GOP ignored blue slips when it was to their advantage. We should do the same.

If GOP held Senate and White House, there would be nominations and confirmations without regard to quaint notions of courtesy.

district court nominees.

Personally, I don't care that they left it intact for district courts. Since they got rid of it for circuit courts, we get rid of it for district courts.
