I am sooo proud of John Fetterman. What a role model.

Courage, determination, integrity--adversity be damned.

So, for putting health issues in perspective (and the related ageism for other candidates) and for showing that integrity matters, I am especially thrilled with his win.

What you see is what you get. He is the opposite of Oz, a snake oil salesman.

Screw the domestic oligarchs who poured millions of dollars into Oz' campaign.

He was fighting not only Slimeball Oz with Trump behind him but the fact that his stroke probably weakened his Democratic support. When we learned of his stroke, our hearts sank, but my husband and I agreed that we'd rather have stroke survivor John Fetterman in the Senate than the healthiest Mehmet Oz nature could provide. It's hard for nonPA dems to understand the depths of despair we experienced when he had his stroke.

But he defeated Oz and Trump, and persuaded doubtful and disheartened voters, all while working his intensive rehab program. He's going to be a great Senator.

I was planning on sending some to Shapiro and some to John. Because I sensed Josh was in good shape, I bundled my entire donation to John. I felt bad donating ZERO to Josh, because he's awesome, but I really felt I needed to push more to John. The election results from last night make me feel as good as humanly possible. Congrats to Govenor and Senator Elect from our great state of PA.

from the GOP, the media, and even people in his own party, including right here on DU - insulting him about how he dressed and his "shit-posting" (tweets) and even his recovery from his stroke, the hand-wringing and innuendos being an abject fucking disgrace. And this was while ignoring that BOTH MD Sen. Chris Van Holland AND NM Sen. Ben Luján ALSO had strokes this past spring, literally within weeks or months of Fetterman's stroke.

whether as an on-the-spot interviewee, or at a more structured event, he is EXACTLY who he seems to be. I'm so happy that he was able to beat a fraudster with name recognition like Meh Oz.

Pretty much all fraudsters, but oz is the quintessential fraudster. He really is a snake oil salesman. In fact, he literally sidetracked a medical career so he could do something way less valuable FOR MONEY!

That makes this win of a person who is his legitimate self so sweet, so special, and so noteworthy.

race. For much of the campaign they didn't even have a candidate, but they managed to keep Fetterman's name on the national stage, they made us WANT to know what they had to say because of their liberal use of humor, they struck the perfect tone and they never let up.

I hope the party makes use of them somehow on a national level.

My dream: Stacy and that bunch working together on our national messaging and GOTV strategy for 2024.

not only for John and the Democrats, but for PA as well.

About the only thing that suprised me was that it was called last night.

And it seems the margin was about where I had thought it would be, about 3 point.

We never knew how serious his physical situation because it was a "gentlemen's agreement" that kept it a secret and because handicapped people were considered ill fit for office (I guess). We are doing no less for the differently abled people with Fetterman.

Fetterman is one of my heroes.

The man won in the midst of a serious health event, ran with his every county, every vote strategy to keep the rural/republican vote trimmed and tossed in a good measure of humor along the way.

The Oz campaign thought they'd seriously wounded Fetterman after the debate, and then aimed their guns on his health, his halting speech patterns. It backfired. Voters were pissed that a doctor would mock a stroke survivor, an unpopular, distrusted doctor at that. It backfired so badly that the debate line repeated endlessly was from Oz himself, the line regarding abortion 'between a woman, her doctor and local politician.'

LOL!

That line was a genuine gift from the gods.

John Fetterman was the better man and ran a better campaign. He did it by being himself, a native son who went out there leading with his heart and soul.

The State of Pennsylvania is lucky to have him!
