When are the early votes counted?

1. Depends on the state. Some states don't allow any early votes to be counted until the polls close.

I'm not sure when early votes are counted here in Los Angeles but I got a text from the Secretary of State in CA that my early ballot was received and counted, so they must count them as received here in CA.

2. Differs state by state.

Some states allow early tabulating so you can count them first and some states don't allow them to be touched till election day (PA).

3. It depends on the state.

You will just have to listen to someone like Kornacki or another elections expert and they will usually tell you when/if the early voting is going into these totals.

4. Colorado as the ballots come in. . .

they are processed through the system and counted so we get preliminary results starting after the polls close.

5. AZ will drop all the early ballots received by Monday an hour after polls close

Then today’s votes are counted. And then the early ballots dropped off today - that’s what takes time.
