To me, a Ferrari in 2022 is like a Swiss watch vs an Apple Watch.

The Apple Watch does everything better but the Ferrari is an engineering masterpiece and comes awfully close to bringing human emotion and passion to an inanimate object.

The cash post tax conversion of the Jackpot is about .42, So 800 some. The actual cash value before taxes was just under one billion. Gambling is a fixed rate federally, and the make income in the state, a few states might exempt their lottery winnings. A few states also allow collecting anonymously after a court case due to the danger of having name, photo and home town listed and a couple of incidents of violence by unknown parties using that information.

A friend got four Powerball numbers plus the bonus, and ended up having to pay CA taxes on his $30k + win as well as the Federal taxes. He ended up with around $15k after taxes.

I won a CA Fantasy Five lottery for $28k a decade and a half ago and only ended paying $7k in Federal taxes. Pre-ACA; most of it went to paying off outstanding medical bills that year.

I had plans for that, and none of them involve Ferraris.

My intent was to get together about a dozen of you folks who know how to run businesses, build a conglomerate, sink about two-thirds of that stash into buying land, building facilities and buying equipment, and put a bunch of people to work.

You of course know what would happen if I DID win the jackpot: every lunatic church in the area would be at my door with their hands out.

I wish that they would break up such huge huge amounts into chunks, such as turning this giant jackpot into perhaps 100 $10,000,000 jackpots or the like, spread the money around.
