Thanks, Joe!!!!!!! Just got this email from Social Security today.

Cost-of-Living Adjustment

Approximately 70 million Americans will see a 8.7% increase in their Social Security benefits and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payments in 2023. We will mail Cost-of-Living Adjustment (COLA) notices throughout the month of December to retirement, survivors, and disability beneficiaries, SSI recipients, and representative payees.

Want to know your new benefit amount before your notice arrives?

Starting in early December, you will be able to securely view and save your Social Security COLA notice online via the Message Center inside my Social Security. Make sure you are signed up for notifications from the my Social Security Message Center by choosing email or text under "Message Center Preferences."

Benefit amounts will not be available before December. With convenient access to your COLA notice by mail or online, you don’t need to contact us to get your new benefit amount.
Log in to your personal my Social Security account today!

I will be getting about $150 more per month beginning next year!

You’re right that it has nothing to do with him but if some voters think it’s his doing then all the better.

Republicans enter the final weeks of the contest for control of Congress with a narrow but distinctive advantage as the economy and inflation have surged as the dominant concerns, giving the party momentum to take back power from Democrats in next month’s midterm elections, a New York Times/Siena College poll has found.

I don't give a damn if he made the decision or not. He is the President of the United States and therefore, CEO of a mighty big corporation. The people in the Social Security Administration work under him. I'll say it again:

Thank You President Biden!!!!!

And you can bet if a republican were in the White House, they would be screaming no, regurgitating, all credit for getting this done. The democrats need to start screaming credit for what happens when they are in power.

Cuz Biden did not have anything to do the raise. It is automatically computed yearly based on some metric of inflation.

If they can blame Joe for the inflation, surely we can thank him for the 8.7% raise.
