(59,632 posts)had Florida, Alabama, and Georgia split off in the early Reagan years, in forming the new 11th. Hence, I agree that the 5th has a longer history of being terrible. But the 11th is trying to catch up.

(21,042 posts)Regardless of how the 11th rules, it will be appealed by one of the parties to SCOTUS.
Trump started his EP appeals re: J6 committee this time last year- it reached SCOTUS by late October, and they issued a ruling by January 2022.
In the meantime, plenty of other Trump crimes to investigate and prosecute.
