So I Just Turned On MSNBC and CNN

I wanted to see the lead story, it was the same for both. The lead story on MSNBC and CNN was that a 29 point underdog lost her primary election.

I am not watching anything else until Chris Hayes comes on, and I must say his return from vacation hasn't inspired me.

I'm going outside to fix the gear shifter on my bicycle.

was terrible. There was one shot during the George Conway interview that showed a staffer walk by and sit down in the background. Then they didn't switch camera angles when one or the other was speaking.

Hope tonight's show is better.

would be smart and independent.

Does Hageman have a platform for Wyoming other than protect trump from criminal consequences? Does Wyoming want somebody with no knowledge on how to govern as their rep? The news is focusing on Cheney losing, not who won. I suppose it's only for two years.

Out of 581,131 apparently. They get TWO Senators.

I was surprised that 1/2 of the last 10 Governors were Democrats.
I wasn’t surprised and never held out hope.

Could spare a few hundred thousand voters to go live in these sparsely populated states for a year or so to qualify to vote, we could turn those dinky states Blue by God!

You may say that I'm a dreamer and right now, perhaps the only one...

Prosecuting Trump was not a concern to them. Inflation and some other kitchen-table issues are.

Besides that, she betrayed the cult/tribe.

What is her plan for dealing with it? Blame Biden and say bad things about him, of course.

The only difference in the votes cast between Cheney and the new Trump bootlicker they voted in would be ones regarding Trump. Don't let them fool you -- protecting their cult leader is all they care about.

And didn't really care about her constituents stuck. It stuck hard.

Most of the commentary I've read about this election are seeing it through a national prism and imposing their own impressions and assumptions onto the election.

I kept an eye on what was being said locally in Wyoming, and the overriding sentiment was that Liz Cheney was about Liz Cheney and didn't care about the people of Wyoming outside of the position they could give to her.

That was hammered again and again. With the Jan. 6th committee, she was in D.C. a lot. They would track how often and how long she was actually in her state.

It was incredibly effective.

Which story to cover, how much airtime it gets, whose point of view gets covered, etc.

I've railed against the msm a lot, but the reporters often get the facts out there decently enough. It's their bosses who send them to cover things like ginned-up scandals against democrats over and over while covering Republican scandals briefly before assigning them to "more important news".

it's not surprising that's their lead story. All these never-Trump Republicans will give Liz plenty of friendly coverage and support if she runs in 2024.

It should be clear to DU'ers that this is the best news aggregator on the planet for politically relevant news, and why use anything else?

I use Hacker News for all things tech. ( https://news.ycombinator.com/newest )

I mean, how do you watch MSM/TV without some pretty heavy drugs to get the rage factor down?

Or do you?
