You cannot trust a sociopath or a psychopath, or control, or pretend to control them.
They knew he was a snake when they invited him into their company.

(4,298 posts)It's not that people didn't believe him. They didn't care that he was a snake. They only cared that he was going to hurt the people they wanted to hurt and he hated the same people they hated.
We need to realize that the one of the main reasons, if not his only reason, for wanting to go on record as having won the 2020 election is that Obama won twice. He cannot accept that Obama was elected twice and he wasn't. He has hated Obama from Obama's first run and that is why he tried his best to make folks believe that Obama was a Muslim and not a citizen. Please remember that a lot of money was used to pump that lie. He lost his case against Obama then and he's been trying ever since to get revenge. His has always been a revenge campaign as it was and still is with all of his supporters. That is why Trump and his supporters are so dangerous. Hillary was too kind calling them "deplorables."
They will mostly go to their graves with unrequited revenge raping their souls.

I think the GOP saw Trump as someone content to play the 'pResident' on TV, but who would not be bothered to actually take the role beyond the occasional ribbon-cutting ceremony between rounds of golf.
I think they believed he would do as he was told by the PTB in the GOP, and they were stunned when he started acting like he actually WAS the "pResident".
After that, they had no choice but to pretend this is what they expected all along.
