Out there must have some dirt on him, everyone does. But I want Serious, Perverted, Nasty, Dirt on DeSantis. Someone from his past that grew up with him has to have some good serious stuff on him. Preferably Dirt that is currently going on like today something, anything.

(4,625 posts)Desantis is loved by the republicans here in Florida. We have our work cut out getting him out of office but its not impossible!

(5,052 posts)TFG is viewed as more moderate because he would posit himself on the left on some issues and then right on some. And a lot of times, he played both sides. Because he had no real record, people believed his BS about his "moderate" views.
That's not how it works for DeSantis. He has many many horrible right wings bills from Florida we can point to and it will drives the moderates away. At least, this is how I (I think I am moderate) view him and there is not a chance I would vote for DeSantis, whereas I have thought about voting for some "moderate republicans" before (not TFG because he is a fake). And frankly, not ever again with this crazy cult republican party.

(5,052 posts)I think there will be sizable people who will not vote if it's not TFG on the ticket because they are a cult.

(55,334 posts)I like Chris Murphy, too. I assume people will probably want an outsider again, however. Gretchen Whitmer seems appealing.
But not too much of an outsider. I hate it how someone like Howard Stern thinks a pampered celebrity, surrounded by an entourage of ass-kissers, thinks they're so brilliant that only they can save democracy.
Pleasing a crowd isn't leadership. It's entertainment.

(10,274 posts)tearing him from limb to limb as soon as he realizes his trumpy cult followers find him a palatable alternative. He is spitting bricks right now as he sees his donors throwing money at DeSantis as we speak....

(55,334 posts)But the only way to deal with a threat to democracy is to vote them down. There's no authority who's going to come along and rescue us from bad governance. We have to be our own knight in shining armor.

(2,242 posts)is DeSantis that loved by Republicans and I dependents? Is there any chance from a Floridian's point of view of many moderate or Conservative Democrats crossing over to vote for Ron DeSantis,?

(2,508 posts)And what happened on January 6. I dont want to water it down with a bunch of outrage and scandal directed elsewhere. However repugnant DeSantis may be, he didnt try to incite a coup in the most brazen act of treachery and treason in American history- and I dont want to defuse that sentiment with an if everyone is dirty, no one is dirty psy-ops by his team.
Desantis will be fought on a more traditional political battlefield. But the goal shouldnt be to match the shock of whats happening todays- because the revelations today deserve to stand alone in American history forever marring Trumps name.
