What I don't get about Bragg's philosophy regarding Bloated Tick

What the fuck does intent have to do with anything? You either break the law or you don't or has the DA forgotten that ignorance of the law is not an excuse?

I think it wouldn't be that hard to establish intent. He's usually so open about how he cuts corners and manipulates the system, clearly not accidental.

Talk about short changing one's self.

were in dire financial straights. He just got a high-profile job, bright future.

Bad decision in my opinion.

And suddenly his future is not so bright. I wouldn't bet on him getting re-elected. And also there's always going to be the damage to reputation and doubts of personal integrity.

Again,some will, some won't.

As laws on financial crime are written, without intent to break the law no crime is committed. Anyone charged can press argument that nothing short of having been heard to say 'It'll sure be sweet when we slide around that pesky (favorite statute here) and really diddle that bank on the loan' can be taken to prove intent. Bolder spirits aiming at lesser targets have not found intent quite so difficult as that to prove for a jury, certainly, but the refuge for the overcautious and the bought and sold remains.

"trump told us to cheat on the tax returns, etc.," it's tough to convict, unless you want to make it a political trial and hope all the jurors hate trump as much as we do. I gues Bragg could indict with "you know the MFer is guilty charge."

Unfortunately, Bragg doesn't have that witness (trump's signing the tax forms -- assuming he even did sign it -- is not proof of anything except he filed taxes). Prehaps more importantly, the DA's Office would have to allocate lots of resources to a trial that would likely go on for years.

But, yeah, there are some people that think Bragg should put his job on the line for a case he might well lose in Court, neglect other important issues to get trump, file an obviously political case, and do what maybe 30% of people want so bad that they wake up wondering if trump has been arrested (as I did during Fitzmas).

... Trump will have to convince a jury that his house didn't go up in 300 million dollars in value in less than a year

Been down $300 billion dollars in value for taxes

Deutsche Bank not handing over records also should be part of the case but on the criminal side.

Then sanctioned in the US

The tax crimes Trump did along with insurance and bank fraud are clear, those things he can't just pawn off on other people and act ignorant. Neither can Deutsche Bank.

It looks like dems and reps believe one thing is that serious federal charges and allegations isn't something we want in our government.
