Wow. Cops found *something* in this house - evacuated Richmond neighborhood

Apparently neighbors are being let back in this morning but just to get essentials. They have to get back out until the search of the house is complete.

Homes evacuated in Henrico neighborhood after police find potential explosive

Police said residents were notified to evacuate or told to shelter in place.

On Thursday, officers went to a home in the area of 7200 Durwood Crescent to conduct a search warrant.

While executing the search warrant, officers left the home in fear for their safety and others in the neighborhood, police said.

I lived for a short time in Henrico County. It wasn't free from some extreme large-city problems then either but its proximity to DC worries me that it might be something worse.

I didn’t hear anything last night but they made a big boom.

This is over towards the University of Richmond. One of our favorite restaurants is over there. This neighborhood is pretty middle class but the UR area is some big money.

Lawn is mowed, there's not piles of junk, and bushes aren't covering the windows. The woodwork and windows aren't screaming for paint. The windows aren't blocked or overly obscured. Roof looks to be in good shape.

That is a shitload of cameras, but since they're all small, that's not a giant red flag. I have 2, one being my doorbell cam, on my house.

I used to pass that area on one my way to work on my Richmond travel assignment. Later, when I moved to Richmond, I would have lived close enough to hear the noise....except I'd have been working Thursday night.
