Omar: Manchin's excuse for not supporting Build Back Better is 'bulls---'

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) said on Sunday that Sen. Joe Manchin’s (D-W.Va.) reasons for not supporting Democrats' social spending bill are "bullshit" after the West Virginia moderate shocked lawmakers Sunday by announcing he was a "no" on the legislation.

"Let’s be clear: Manchin’s excuse is bullshit. The people of West Virginia would directly benefit from childcare, pre-Medicare expansion, and long term care, just like Minnesotans," Omar tweeted.

Omar said Manchin's position was what progressive House lawmakers had warned for months — that the Senate did not have all 50 Democratic votes needed to pass Biden's spending package.

“This is exactly what we warned would happen if we separated Build Back Better from infrastructure,” she said.

This hurts, I thought Manchin would at least support a watered-down version.

That he nor any of his family have ever been to the mine they own, other than the office complex. Bet he rarely, if ever, speaks with his constituents. He sure likes to make sure they don't get educated or have options for jobs that don't include being impoverished for life and working in the mines. If people have a way to better their lives in WV, he's against it.

The Manchin theme song.

Billboards stating what he has done should go up right near his offices and homes; We need planes with similar messages flying around telling the people of WV what this man has done. I hope the Lincoln Project gets involved.

I hope this is front page news in all WV newspapers tomorrow.
