(9,173 posts)In Colorado this morning I had this system hit my area with a sudden snow/sleet squall, high winds, swept in and then swept right back out--was weird.

(27,596 posts)We got some serious thunderstorms, but Bowling Green is 45 minutes south of us. Casualties and tons of damage:
"tornado damage in Bowling Green was categorized as EF-3, with estimated wind speeds of 150 miles per hour."

We dodged a bullet.  Several were spotted around us, but they didn't touch down.

(34,007 posts)Radar will show a tornado, (funnel cloud-tornado warning), but the official definition will be ground activity...
Many times they go in and out of clouds, thus "starting and stopping".
