Ahhh. That answers my question in post #3 Adams is a Black Man. Budi Nov 2021 #4
Yes, but Adams still won the mayoral race. You know how staten island is. LenaBaby61 Nov 2021 #2
Glad Adams won it. Sliwa is a scarey being. Budi Nov 2021 #3

As a NYC'r - Staten Island - I'd say the southern half, maybe two thirds electric_blue68 Nov 2021 #6
Yes. It was trending more moderate up until 2016 but it's definitely conservative. Drunken Irishman Nov 2021 #8

If they had overwhelmingly voted for a black man, then I would have been surprised.

Is Staten Island RW or something?

Who are they.

but I will say that Archie Bunker always seemed more Staten Island than Queens to me.

has always had a lot of white and RW'rs living there. I'd say a lot of cops and fire fighters (of whom I'd very, very disappointed that they, too, are shunning the vax in bigger #'s than most other NYC'rs).

Most people of color live in the northern section. I don't think it's changed that much.

It's always been a slice of conservative in New York politics.

Staten Island is located in Richmond County.

In 2020, Trump won it 57-42.
In 2016, Trump won it 56-41.
In 2012, Obama won it 49.9-49.1
In 2008, Obama lost it 52-48
In 2004, Kerry lost it 56-43

So, you can see that it shifted blue in 2008 and then went blue in 2012 (barely) before shifting significantly Republican the last two election cycles.
