Why?
1. Racism. White people don't want to give POC a penny.
2. Americans are puritans at heart. Happiness is bad, suffering and misery are good.
3. The wealthy see all US resources as theirs and theirs alone. They aren't about to share.

(58,785 posts)if he could undo his role in 2016, and the enormous gift that was to the wealthy, he would. That is truly to be grateful for.
But with more extremely critical, perhaps last-ever elections coming up, I wish he would speak out and help lead those who might repeat their mistakes away from the cliff. Giant wealth inequality hurts everyone, but they've seen nothing like the pain to come if we let government of, by and for the people end.
