(25,048 posts)Other businesses operate under court orders, too. In the music business, performing rights societies, like Ascap and BMI, operate under Consent Decrees in order to collect and distribute royalties.
Generally, these decisions are made because these businesses must operate federally, that is, in many different states each of which has different laws and regulations.

Dumb move by republicans in my view, as the MLB and other entities will now have additional reasons to work against republicans being elected.
