My Thoughts on Spring Break Mess in Florida

So I heard about the news a lot today about rowdy spring breakers in Miami doing all kinds of rowdy things that have serious adverse effects.
The question is that this behavior considered typical behavior, but aggravated due to the pandemic. Or there is far more serious mental health issue is not being addressed
To me, they are dumb entitled college idiots. But, I am also interested in the psychology of this behavior and whether there is any deeper problem that the media is not reporting.

I honestly don't blame these stupid kids, I blame the fucked up Greedy Old Pig "LEADERSHIP" in Florida that makes greed and ignorance the overriding factors in COVID policy.

I disagree and frankly I never disagree with your posts.

They are greedy and selfish with no care of their own family and friends. The virus is a death sentence to a half million. First responders, and my niece is one, put their lives on the line for these people. She worked ICU without the necessary protective gear. Eighteen hour shifts to care for these people who couldn't be bothered to protect themselves and others. Our hospitals can no longer handle needed care due to the overwhelming influx of COVID patients.

My four year old great niece has more sense than these people do. She wears a mask and has for over a year.

to help keep things safe by putting in place safety standards which the Florida governor refuses to do.

Narcissists raised to be that way... only ah go to sprink break in the first place. The fact that they don’t care about covid and killing people is not a surprise to me. There were already large parties when some colleges started opening up early on. People like this are in large part why we are in this mess for the last several years.

who think Covid-19 is no worse than the flu, who refuse to wear masks, won't get the vaccine, and have told these kids hundreds of times that the restriction are ridiculous.

My guess, from looking at the crowds now and remembering what people were like when I was a teenager, is that there are a lot of kids who are “liberals” or from liberal families having fun a spring break.

I don’t think 100% of kids from “liberal” families are sitting at home because of CV19. Not saying the should not stay home, they just aren’t..

Yes they are dumb. Not entitled.

I’ll tell you the psychology...

Add the sense of invincibility
Add hormones ( yes hormones are normal)
Add Alcohol
Maybe some cannabis and other possible meds
And friends who influence you

Now you know the psychology

We were all 18 to 21 once.
Thankfully we survived that time.

I doubt that very few of them actually did what they were supposed to do. They've probably been running around and ignoring safety precautions since last year. Spoiled brats is what they are!

from the Virus. They look around and see other young, healthy, laughing people who aren't worried, unlike their everyday experience.

They want to be part of that, if even for a week to ten days.

I live close by so this was local Miami news. The crowd scenes that they showed did not have one white person. All people interviewed were black and older than what I would think are students.

I’m confused. Are there honestly no people of other races involved in this, or is the reporting one sided on purpose?
And from what I observed, there was dancing and partying and laughter... not anything remotely resembling what happened at the Capitol on January 6. Yet the town was was closed down very quickly.
