I also have to wonder if at some point Biden and McConnell had a long talk on the phone after McConnell lost the speakership about whether the Turtle would go quietly or whether the threat of an investigation would be necessary, especially as Jan 6 may have rattled him a lot more than he let on.

I wouldn't be surprised if Mitch tries to outwait Gov. Beshear's term, thinking Beshear won't be elected again--same reason, the Gen Assembly has been trying to do him in from Day 1.
