About a decade ago I attended a major Democratic Party thing in a midwestern state, and in the middle of all the speechifying, one of the leading Dems made a point of thanking all the wait staff who were serving us at the banquet. The wait staff was almost entirely African American. I believe the Republicans had had a similar even there a couple of weeks earlier, and I overheard some wait staff noting that the Republicans certainly had not thanked them.

The AOC team had to clean up broken glass, broken furniture, peeves and parts of doors, battering rams, materials taken from the inaugural platform, flag pols, sticks, clubs, fire extinguishers, gas masks, general trash, water bottles, shit, literally shit and piss, and add to it that much of it had residue from pepper spray, tear gas, bear repellant, discharged fire extinguishers, spit, snot, piss, blood.

The amazing Men and Women that work for the Architect cleaned the building to the point that the House and Senate were able to come back in session by 8 pm.

Anybody who defecated or pissed in the hallowed halls of our US Capital would go directly to jail and clean the toilets in that jail with their own toothbrushes. Disgusting! Hey Trump, you want to talk about they way they dress and how that was low class? Are you kidding me??

To keep winning Statewide races in Ohio as a Democrat is no small feat.

I use to know him a bit, he was and is a good human being.

It's insightful, it's kind and it's absolutely true.

Sherrod Brown ought to be a little louder going forward. Or at the present volume, but much more often.

He is a reminder of the kind of people who should be in public office ... you know, the type of people who actually CARE about people and their lives.

I recommend following his wife, writer Connie Schulz, on Facebook and Twitter. Her posts either make me think (her columns for Creators.com are really good), or they make me feel better, especially on bad days.

When I am busily cringing about Ohio being in the news for the latest nonsense from the coatless nuisance in Congress, Gym Jordan, or the latest weaseling from Senator Portman, I take comfort from the genuine care we receive from Senator Brown.
