5. GA Sec of State has until Jan 22

To certify the election. He says that should be done by the 20th.
The senate won’t meet again until the 19th, but Pence will still be the tiebreaker then, so we can’t take the majority position in the Senate until after noon on the 20th.

Warnock said the other day that he is satisfied that SOS is doing all he can to complete the process, and it looks like it will be done several days prior to the 20th.

But I think, under the unusual circumstances we see today, there is no gain to GA Sec of State not completing the process as quickly as possible and then hiding under a rock until everybody forgets about him. He is probably seriously concerned about violence from the Insurrection crowd over his role in upholding his Constitutional duty regarding the election.
