To abide by and defend the Constitution. Since he is unwilling to defend the Constitution as required by his Oath of office, it seems best that he is removed from the position as a Senator of the U.S..

Are you all going to get hung up on people who died, and all this property destruction and stuff? Get over it! Don't you all know how bad this makes Lindsey look? Put things into perspective once, cancha? There were Trump supporters trailing through poor Lindsey through an airport and making him feel really, really bad! Doesn't anyone feel sorry for Lindsey because he painted himself into a corner and now he's getting it from both sides?! What kind of monsters are you people?

But what message would it send if he did the right thing without making millions off it? Besides, Lindsey, probably knows a lot about the element polonium, so he would never go against his owners orders.
