Why were there so few arrests? Many reasons but one I really hope is included:

I would just as soon none of these seditious assholes appears before a judge, pleads, and accepts a bench sentence while they are still eligible for a "pardon" from [Redacted].

Take your time, get the evidence, get the warrants, etc. Let them enter the judicial process no sooner than 12:01 pm EST on the 20th of January.

wearily,
Bright

Nixon was never charged with anything.

Neither is naming them necessary for a pardon. Carter pardoned Vietnam draft dodgers without ever naming one.

Mass arrests at the time might have not only been impossible, but would have inflamed the MAGAts even more and escalate the situation. The those unmasked faces can be identified from surveillance videos to be prosecuted later. I'm sure they had pre planned procedures to follow, even if not visible to us as we watched on TV.

Cameras with facial recognition, everywhere.

Best to just show up on their doorstep or even better while their out and about to lessen the chance of violence.

Arrested en masse on the spot. Letting them disperse allows for capture of smaller groups with less protection. They can be traced, most of them. Slow pick up around the country will do for the next ten days or so.
