I kinda wonder if it's a reluctant participant caught in a gaggle of crazed terrorists.

I mean, that's a lot of explosives going off and yet dedicated to not hurting anyone.

didn’t want to shoot himself in his house.

Not sure it has anything to do with politics.

Why "we" have to jump to off-the-wall conclusions every time something like this happens is a little odd. My personal favorite was the assertion that this was the opening volley of a civil war by the right.

Not sure why we can't just wait and see what comes of it before assuming we know the motivation. Human nature, I guess.

but why was he planning to kill himself - was it a health issue, politics - why build this massive bomb - lots of questions remain

He used to install alarms and that loudspeaker etc allowed him to go out in a "blaze of glory" as opposed to dying unknown.

He had a neighbor who said he had small dogs that were well taken care of. I bet he took them to a shelter or rehomed them.

I also found this on Twitter. He had an expired explosives license in Tennessee.

...is "what were those two reports about him to the F.B.I. (made before the bombing) about?" Did they have to do with political matters, or was it just some guy ranting about how he had been cheated by AT&T or someone, and was planning to take revenge?
