It's about the Constitutional continuity of government - Meadows isn't legally able to take over for Trump, even if he is Trump's CoS.

Pence needs to be front and center, he should be pretending he's capable of taking over and not hiding in Cheney's man-sized safe with Mother trying to convince him the nasty virus won't get him.

At least we all knew in past GOP presidencies that the VP was available in case of emergencies, and would actually get in front of cameras and say the politic thing.

and probably exposed by Trump and others too. He should be sequestered as much as possible, briefed via teleconferences, untill enough time goes by to make sure he doesn't have the virus. He should do Zoom or teleconferenced appearances to prove he is well and offer assurances to the nation.
