Pilot talk in cockpit was peaceful until communication with Tower was lost all together in one moment.

The black boxes (including the CVR) are still in Iran.

7. That's on them. I'm going to look to see if CVR transcripts or recordings were released by Iran

say 'voice' when they mean one of the black boxes. I would doubt if Iran has access to that data. I think Iran may have mentioned getting canada's help if they can't decode the two black boxes, at least one of which was damaged. Anyhow. Seems more and more like a missile. Now Iran has a 'bomb on board' theory. Grasping at straws because they had at least a day to plan the attack and that should have involved clearing the airspace. Trudeau has a tough road to walk insisting on data and that political considerations in Iran are not allowed to muddy the waters. Iran opposition had joined with the hardliners after Soleimani's death. Anti iran factions in Iraq had joined with the iranians too. They no doubt will want to keep these advantages as the investigation slowly rolls along. We should know more Saturday when the Iranians are holding a press conference. Such a waste of the young. Such negligence.

per usual they were not actually black but orangy red and i only really saw one cylinder. So they have not got any data from them.

It was a missile strike.

Engine fires don't do that.

And I know how devastated my Canadian friends are today.

I don't think Americans can really appreciate how sad this is for them...
